Ruger RXM
Summary:
The Ruger RXM is a stiker-fired, compact pistol that is a clone of the Gen3 Glock. It contains a lot of great features for its price point, making it a top choice for an entry-level gun that you can really grow into.
Why we like it
Based on the Gen3 Glock, this pistol offers a very high level of reliability and customability at a price that is significantly lower than that of a Glock.
- Optics ready (super important)
- Light rail (super important
- Accepts most Gen3 Glock accessories
- Ruger is a well-established company
Why we don't
Considering that this gun is a collaboration between Ruger and Magpul (which is a well-known manufacturer of firearm grips), it’s surprising that the one glaring negative about this gun has to do with the grip:
- It does not have adjustable backstraps. The size of the grip is what it is.
- HOWEVER: Ruger/Magpul plans to come out with grips that have different lengths, and perhaps they or others will come up with a grip that has adjustable backstraps.
- Related to the first point, the grip is a little on the small size for someone with large hands.
- HOWEVER: You can always add grip tape or some other kind of padding if you feel the grip is a bit small for you.
